Josh was the first to move to St. Pete in 2019, taking an internship offer with the Tampa Bay Rays. He quickly found himself at home with a group of new friends/coworkers in a growing city that offered lots to do.

Meanwhile, Mallory made her way down to St. Pete several times to visit her friend Sydney, who was also working for the Rays during this time. Mallory also loved St. Pete, saying, "I could see myself living here!"

Lo and behold, Mallory gets an externship offer to work at All Children's Hospital in St. Pete. She moves down and starts spending time with Sydney and her friends. Josh is one of these friends, and they start spending more and more time together.

What starts as a friendship between Josh and Mallory grows into spending more time together, having movie nights between just the two of them, and they start dating.

Mallory's dog Pepper was then who Josh had to win over, as she is wary of all tall men. She went from hiding when he knocked at the door, to jumping all four feet off the ground when he came to visit.

Josh and Mallory now live together in a house in St. Pete, where they like to decorate for holidays, grow vegetables in their garden and Pepper roams the backyard.
